Why We Built This Site
Illinois provides several forms of public access, but each answers a different question. The Whiteside County Sheriff holds sheriff-created reports and jail records; the Circuit Clerk maintains filed charges and dispositions; and the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification operates the statewide repository. IDOC custody information and the Illinois Sex Offender Registry add separate state layers. We bring the verified request steps, official searches, contacts, and published costs together while keeping those distinctions clear.

This is a privately operated reference site, unaffiliated with an Illinois court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Those boundaries mean:

- We do not submit records requests, expungement petitions, or other filings for visitors
- We cannot retrieve an official record or conduct an official check
- Published contacts and fees should be confirmed with the responsible office
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Whiteside County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, or Illinois State Police. This site can identify that office but cannot produce its record.
